You can do it.  Just take your time.  I have been gardening all my life.  I ended up working for Jane Bath(dianthus Bath&#039;s Pinks)  in GA for a few years as buyer for her Nursery and Garden Center.  I have since moved back to my home state of SC.  We are on the coast here and I am learning all over again.  
I have learned my best lessons by making mistakes.  
The worst one was planting a tree in the wrong place.  The next one was planting the invasive showy Primrose in a border.  It took over the border and the lawn!
